Kudo Society Lounge, the restaurant, lounge, and bar from the Kudo coffee shop brand, has opened in Palisades Park.
Owners Cherie Ryu and Michael Mortorano have teamed up for the venture, with Ryu realizing her own American dream in 2001 after establishing Kudo as a specialty coffee franchising, licensing, wholesale, and retail company. Mr. Mortorano has been involved in logistics for 40 years and is an advisor on the project as well.
The menu (View Menu) from Chef Peter J. Ingrasselino (Club Med, Peter’s on the Boulevard, Ill Fornaio Trattoria, Starwood Hotels) – who’s been working in the biz since he was washing dishes at 14 and graduated from the New York Restaurant School – is being labelled “K-Euro Fusion cuisine”, which they believe it is a new category.
Looking to bring back the classic American diner after Golden Eagle closed in the location 7 years ago, they will offer breakfast and lunch plus an “American Korean fusion” menu for dinner. Of course, there’s a full bar, lounge, and karaoke too. The full classic diner eats will be available soon, as will a brunch offering on Sundays.
